Computer Essentials Calgary specializes in computer repairs, WordPress websites, website SEO, and a service desk for lawyers, consultants, and independent businesses in Calgary.

Dwight Stewart has been helping people be more productive with technology since 1985 and Computer Essentials was started in 1987.  Even today, building PC’s and optimizing the configuration is still tons of fun.

Dwight began his career as an internal auditor and moved into Information Technology as a liaison between the Finance Department and IT in the oil and gas sector.  He then transitioned to working in the IT departments at Calgary law firms.

Dwight was part of the IT team at Macleod Dixon (now Norton Rose Canada LLP) from 1991-1993.  He was responsible implementing the Local Area Network project, disaster recovery planning, and daily technical support. Dwight created applications in FoxPro 2 including marketing expenditure tracking, litigation support system, library collections management, and a foreign law management system.  He researched, recommended and implemented products for text retrieval, document management, litigation support, end user support, and network management along with being the automation specialist on all major litigation files.

Dwight then move to Howard Mackie (now Borden Ladner Gervais LLP) as the Supervisor of Information Systems 1993.  He was the hands-on project lead for the local area network, optimized the configuration of the file server, developed and implemented PC configuration standards, developed the first phase of the disaster recover plan, system administrator for the accounting system, and supervised the Word Processing Centre staff of eight.  Re-engineered the service delivery model for the Word Processing Centre, dramatically improved document production and quality, while increasing the communication between the Word Processing Centre staff, legal assistants, and lawyers.

Dwight understands the computer needs of lawyers and has a track record of success. His relationships with other IT professionals enables Computer Essentials Calgary to offer 24/7 support for those clients who need it. Hardware, software, or website support clients include Morpheus Basketball, Kuefler & Company, Ellert Law, and Gary A. Daniels Professional Corporation.

Dwight earned his B.Comm degree from the University of Calgary and has practitioner level certification in ITIL V2 IPRC (Combined Change, Configuration and Release Management), ITIL V2 IPSR (Combined Service Desk, Incident and Problem Management), and PRINCE2 Practitioner certification in project management.
